Must we be Lutheran in order to attend SJLS?
St John Lutheran School is open to all who desire to have a Christian education
for their children.
Is St John's in Milwaukee Choice program?
Because we are not located in the City of Milwaukee we are unable to participate
in the school Choice program.
What programs do you offer for young children?
Our Care program begins at 6 weeks and continues through Age 2. We also have a
PreK-3 and PreK-4 program. Our Learning Center serves preschool families who
have Care needs after the morning programs.
What hours do you operate at St John's?
Infant and Toddler Care opens at 7:00 AM along with the Before School Care
program. Our Care program closes at 6:00 PM.
What are your classroom capacities in the elementary school?
The classrooms will comfortably hold approximately 20 students. We generally
limit the Kindergarten classes to 16-18 students.

What kind of curriculum is available?
The curriculum includes a progressive program of learning aligned with state
standards. The booklet "What your child will learn and do in the
…Grade" will give you a snapshot of how the curriculum is organized and
how students will be prepared for each grade level.
What kind of religious materials are used?
We use religion materials prepared by our church body through Concordia
Publishing House in addition to the Bible and other religious materials.
Do you have a hot lunch program? Our hot lunch program is
operated by the Taher Company which operates most of the school food service
programs on the North Shore.
