Jennifer Comfort

Meet Jennifer

Guiding students to recognize how God works in their lives is such a joy to me. As a life long learner myself, I strive to provide an environment where students can grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. My biggest joy as an administrator is getting to know each family in the school and sharing in their child’s educational journey.
I find strength by remembering
Psalm 118:14.

John Gehm

Middle School Science & Social Studies

Meet John

God has always directed me towards teaching. I look for opportunities to direct all of God's children to His love and undeserved grace. I enjoy science and find it incredible to learn, show, and teach how God has woven this earth and its laws together for us to appreciate Him through science. My wife, Stephanie, and I enjoy loving our three daughters as we live in the Milwaukee area.

Janeen Bain

Middle School Language Arts

Meet Janeen

I have been a member of St. John’s since 1991 and have been teaching in the middle school for the past 16 years. I enjoy working with adolescents and preparing them for the challenges they will face in high school. I daily “lift up my eyes to the hills” knowing that “my help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and earth” (Psalm 121).

Karina Levine

4th grade

Meet Karina

I have been teaching at St. John's since 2017. I believe in giving kids a fresh start every day and teaching them to mirror the love and forgiveness of Jesus to one another. In a world saturated with information, my educational philosophy is that students need to be taught skills such as critical thinking, researching, synthesizing, conversing, cooperation, and conflict resolution. I love finding ways to integrate my subjects together as we dive into the complexity of the world around us, and I am always looking for ways to connect our learning with our faith. Music is also a passion of mine, so I enjoy teaching K-8 music classes as well as 4th grade. At night I go home to my loving husband and our three precious kitties.

Leah Cermak

3rd grade

Meet Leah

I am blessed to be in my 10th year teaching and 3rd year at St. John’s. My favorite part of teaching is watching students grow in their faith through questions and discussions. When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with my husband and Shetland Sheepdog, Zola. My favorite Bible verse is Zephaniah 3:17.

Suzanne Denecke

Junior Kindergarten

Meet Suzanne

Being with, and teaching, young children has always been a passion of mine. I am married to a great guy - John - and we have 4 children. St. John's has been my church home since 1991. I believe that children learn best by doing. They learn best when an adult lovingly guides them - but doesn't necessarily give them the answers. 'Be still and know that I am God.'
Psalm 46:10.

Jacob Koch

Junior Kindergarten

Meet Jacob

I am a graduate of Concordia University of Wisconsin with a degree in educational studies. I love being able to teach children and families about God and His love for them. I feel very blessed to be a part of the team at St. Johns. In my off time I love spending time with my wife and 2 young children. I have played rugby for 15 years and still occasionally play whenever I get the chance.

I'm excited about the opportunity to share the incredible wonders that God has given us with my students and their families.

I am super excited to begin my time here at St John's. Being able to teach every grade in a different environment, and not just in the classroom, is a valuable experience for all students. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Physical Education at Concordia Wisconsin. I am passionate about movement and exercise, and cannot wait to continue training up the next generation of awesome individuals! I am engaged to my beautiful fiancee Macy, and enjoy watching and announcing sports!
