Meet Marla
I am a 2001 graduate of Concordia Univ., WI (B.A. in Lutheran Elementary Ed.) and in 2011 I earned a Master’s of Ed. in Special Ed. from Grand Canyon Univ. - Phoenix, AZ. I have taught all grade levels and love working with children and their families as a school principal. Married since 1985, Jerry and I have 3 grown children. I enjoy spending time in my garden or working with my horses. Prov. 3:5-6

I've been working at St. Johns since 2008, and my role as a K3 teacher since 2014 has been incredibly rewarding. Beyond the classroom, I find joy in spending time with my sons, reading, and expressing my creativity through art. I'm excited about the opportunity to share the incredible wonders that God has given us with my students and their families.

I am a 1999 graduate from Concordia University - WI. I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Speech Communication and currently hold a Lifetime License. I am married to my husband Brian and together we have two children. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy being with my family, attending Admiral hockey games, and working around the yard.

I am thrilled to join the St. John family as the 1st Grade teacher! I have served in Lutheran education for over 30 years, earning my degree ('94) in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University Chicago. My passion is creating a Christ-centered classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to grow in faith and learning.

I have been blessed to serve at St. John's since 2020 in multiple roles. I am excited to be stepping into the 2nd grade teaching position while continuing to direct the Extended Care program for K3-8th. I enjoy teaching at St. John's and being part of this wonderful community in which students and teachers share the love of Jesus with others daily.

This will be my 5th year teaching 3rd grade at St. John’s and my 12th year teaching! I feel so blessed to be able to share the love of God with my students every day. I enjoy teaching, learning about my students, and the family feel that St. John’s provides. One of my favorite parts of teaching is learning from my students and the excitement we share when they are able to teach me new things.

I am so happy to be a part of the faculty at St. John's for the 2025-2026 school year! I graduated from Calvin University in 2020 with a degree in English Secondary Education and have been teaching for five years, most recently at Walther Lutheran in Melrose Park, Illinois. I got married this past summer and moved to Wisconsin. Philippians 4:8

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Human Services and am currently pursuing my second Bachelor's in Elementary Education at Concordia University Wisconsin and plan to attend graduate school for Reading and Literacy afterward.As a follower of Christ, I’m excited to support our students as they grow in both literacy and confidence, guided by love, patience, and faith.

Meet Jacob
I am a graduate of Concordia University of Wisconsin with a degree in educational studies. I love being able to teach children and families about God and His love for them. I feel very blessed to be a part of the team at St. Johns. In my off time I love spending time with my wife and 2 young children. I have played rugby for 15 years and still occasionally play whenever I get the chance.

Meet Chris
I am excited to join St. John as the music teacher! I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin and earned my Master of Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I currently hold a lifetime teaching license in Wisconsin and a professional teaching license in Texas. For the past 14 years, I have been blessed to teach in Lutheran schools in California, Texas, and Wisconsin.
